Landscape Design: Early Childhood

We have over 20 years experience in playground construction for pre-schools. For the past ten years, the Gardenmakers have been especially involved in early childhood playground design, undertaking many complex projects for a variety of clients.

We have a design philosophy that realises the importance of early learning and development through play. We aim to create a naturalistic outdoor environment through a selection of vegetation, natural surfacing materials, colours and textures, while providing challenging play features and providing active and quiet areas.

We also design and construct our own playground equipment (to ASNZ 4422:1996) and can incorporate soft fall surfacing and shade to provide a holistic design approach to the play space.

We have developed longstanding relationships with some of Australia’s leading childcare providers and have received many design awards for excellence in Early Childhood Settings, including Local Government, Kidsafe, Australian Institute of Landscape Designers & Managers and the NSW Landscape Contractors Association.

The company has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the appropriate requirements of the Cancer Council, Australian Standards, Department of Community Services, APSI, Work Cover and other elements involved with the design and planning of child care facilities.
